Why I Wrote This Book
Long before this was a book, it was a kitchen table—flour on the counter, a child on a stepstool, and a recipe passed along without ever being written down.
Cooking together builds something a screen can’t.
Building Kitchen Skills grew out of that same belief that shapes everything else I write: the smallest traditions are often the ones worth keeping. It’s not just a set of recipes—it’s confidence built one measured cup at a time and a little independence a child gets to claim as their own.
I wrote this book so parents and grandparents would have an easy way back to that kitchen table, with real instructions and real trust in a child holding a knife and a bowl.
Like Sonny & Teresa, this book is rooted in family, connection, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next.
